About Communities of Champions
The presence of a Community of Champions in a community is a sign that there is a team of engaged citizens that is acting in an open and peaceful manner to encourage and to enable people to take action in a positive way. Champions are also active globally as they bring voices from their communities into global activities; ensuring that their community is not left out, left behind or forgotten.
Communities of Champions work in partnership with the authorities and with concerned stakeholders to ensure that we work in harmony to build a world with people empowered; because no single organisation or person has all the answers.

United People Communities of Champions is a network of teams of engaged citizens committed to helping people to make the world a better place through positive and constructive action. Each UP Community (UP Community) is a non-partisan, non-religious group within a community that is focused on empowering people to participate in the future of their communities and of our world. UP Communities work to contribute to resolving local challenges by collaborating with relevant stakeholders in a positive and non-confrontational manner. Each UP Community is composed of people from all walks of life and reflects the diversity of the community that the UP Community serves.
The work of UP Communities is facilitated by United People Global Foundation (UPG), an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland. UPG is not a political or religious organisation and UPG’s activities are built on raising awareness, strengthening belief, facilitating collaboration and fostering community. The activities of the community support the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
